The Week Ahead: Food-Friendly Wine, G-Zen Chefs, Norman Rockwell, Starbucks Hiring, "The Moon's A Harsh Mistress" And More


On Monday, at Quattro's in Guilford, there will be a wine appreciation class. Wines will be paired with tapas. To find out more, read the listing.

On Tuesday, Mark Shadle and Ami Beach from G-Zen in Branford will be visiting Scranton Memorial Library in Madison to talk about vegan, ,organice, raw, local, and sustainable food. From the listing: "Join these two renowned chefs as they discuss the benefits of a plant-based diet, raw foods, juicing and organic cuisine, and share suggestions for exploring this way of eating (and living). Also on Tuesday, at the Gables in Guilford, there will be a lecture on Norman Rockwell. 

On Wednesday, Starbucks is having a "hiring event" in Branford. Check out the listing for more details.

Also on Wednesday, there will be the monthly meeting of the Menunkatuck Audubon, a member of National Audubon that serves Guilford, Branford, New Haven, East Haven , Madison and West Haven. At the meeting, Dr. David Wagner, UConn professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, will talk about " The Tangled Fates of Plants, Caterpillars and Birds," with a focus on caterpillars and their importance to birds and biodiversity.
