The Southern Connecticut Cycle Club and the Madison Jaycees
are teaming up once again to bring you the 2013 Summer Breeze Century Ride for
Autism.
For more information, or to register online, please visit our website at
www.SummerBreezeCentury.org
The ride will be held at Daniel Hand High
School in Madison on Saturday July 13, 2013.
Last year’s ride was a huge success and generated over $10,000 to
benefit individuals with autism and their families.  The Summer Breeze Century Ride is a well supported
bike ride that offers a Century Ride
(100 miles), a 62 mile (100k) route, a 50 mile route, or gentle 22 and
15 mile routes for newer cyclists.  The
ride includes scenic country roads as well as beautiful shoreline views.  This year, we have improved the century course
to include more shoreline views in Sachems Head (Guilford)
and Stony Creek, and fewer (GIANT) hills in Durham.
The ride will be on Saturday, July 13, 2013, and will begin at Daniel
Hand High School at 286 Green Hill Road in Madison, CT.  Registration fees are $40 (now) and $50 after
June 30th.  The beneficiaries
will be the SARAH Foundation and Jacob’s Team Foundation.  Any rider who raises more than $500 in
donations will earn a free, logoed cycling jersey.  Any rider who earns more than $100 in
donations will earn a free, logoed, coffee mug.

Jacob’s team is a local foundation formed by Sharon and
Shane Kokoruda of Madison.  Jacob’s Team’s mission is to raise money to
support the diagnosis, treatment, and eventual cure of autism.  Please visit jacobsteam.org.  Jacob’s team provides a simple, on-line way
for athletes competing in a triathlon, bike race, swim race, or any sporting
event to form a team to raise money for families who are struggling to cover
the costs associated with providing proper treatment for an autistic child.  Jacob’s Team has also sponsored events such
as the annual golf tournament at Madison Country Club, and is proud to be a
beneficiary and supporter of The Summer Breeze Century Ride for Autism.

Founded in 1957 in Guilford,
SARAH is a family of agencies that provide programs and services for people
with intellectual and other disabilities including Autism.  SARAH supports hundreds of people with high
quality programs and services for early intervention therapy, vocational
training, job placements, residential support, and recreational activities.  To learn more about SARAH visit sarahfoundation.org.

The ride will be organized and managed by The Southern
Connecticut Cycle Club and the Madison Jaycees.
The Southern Connecticut Cycle Club is a volunteer group that organizes
bike rides that range from “social and gentle” to “training grade.”  It’s more fun to ride with friends, so check
out www.SummerBreezeCentury.org
and find some other cyclists in your area.

The Madison Jaycees is a non-profit organization that raises
funds for a variety of local charities.
The Madison Jaycees have sponsored the Turkey Trot road race at Hammonasset State Park every Thanksgiving since
1979.  The Jaycees also sponsor the Dave
Parcells Madison Triathlon each September at the Surf Club in Madison.
