Pipescreams! Concert with Organist Nathan Bayreuther

Join us as the First Congregational Church of Madison’s Music at the Meetinghouse concert series presents organist and Director of Music Ministry Nathan Bayreuther in a concert of music for Halloween! Works to be presented include Louis Vierne’s Fantômes, Joseph Callaert’s Toccata in E Minor, Camille Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre, Charles-Marie Widor’s Allegro vivace (first movement) from Symphony #5, Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, and other surprises.

Nathan began his career as a professional organist at age thirteen at the First Congregational Church in New London, Connecticut. Hired as the Director of Music five years later in 1999, he quickly established himself as an organ recitalist, performing at various venues across the state. In 2005, he was hired as the full-time Director of Music Ministry at the First Congregational Church of Madison and instituted a popular and well-attended annual Lenten Organ Concert Series. Teachers have included Dr. Judith Mack and Czech organist and composer Godfrey Tomanek.

Labeled “a rare jewel whose performances are both awe-filled and stirring” (Arts on the Edge, Wolfeboro, NH), Nathan is also described as “a musician who combines a mature talent with a playful enthusiasm” (Joseph F. Dzeda, Associate Curator of Organs, Yale University). He has received numerous accolades, awards and scholarships including the Colleague Certification by the American Guild of Organists (2004).  He has served on the Executive Boards of the New London and New Haven County Chapters of the AGO and has also served as an organ scholarship adjudicator. He performs organ concerts on a regular basis across the region and also serves as organist for the New England Chamber Choir and Orchestra based in Cromwell.

Tickets are $10 available at the door. Appropriate for all ages! Visit www.fccmadison.org/music for more information or call Nathan Bayreuther at: 203-245-2739, ext. 21.
