Madison Lyric Stage Presents From Berlin To Vienna Dinner and Concert

Madison Lyric Stage concludes its summer concert series with a gala dinner and concert From Berlin to Vienna on Saturday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Society (SUUS) located at 297 Boston Post Road in Madison.  


The evening will feature a full German- and Austrian-influenced gourmet buffet dinner provided by Liana’s Table Catering, served al fresco under a tent on the lovely grounds of SUUS.  It will include professional entertainment, including German opera, operetta and musical theater highlights.  Musical selections will be presented from Cabaret, Three-Penny Opera, Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow, Tannhäuser and Die Walküre, among others.


The professional cast includes internationally renowned tenor Marc Deaton whose latest CD Marc Deaton Wagner is available on the Centaur label; soprano Megan Weston whose recent appearances include Carnegie Hall and the Caramoor Festival; and soprano Emily Langford Johnson who has appeared with New York City Opera.  They are joined by Barbara Hentschel, a graduate of the famed Actor’s Studio who recently appeared at the Long Wharf Theatre, and John Johmann who recently portrayed the title role of Macbeth at the Thirteenth Street Repertory Theater in New York.  Acclaimed pianist Michael Fennelly, who recently toured Japan for the U.S. State Department and has performed in many of the world’s great concert halls, including Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall, will also perform.
