The Cancer Support Group, which meets every 2 weeks, is open to the entire shoreline community and to everyone affected by cancer: the recently diagnosed, long time patients, cancer survivors, family members, friends, those that have lost someone to cancer any time in their life, anyone with questions, concerns, fears, or information to share.
It is a place to talk, to listen, and to share the hurt, anger, confusion, and sadness brought on by dealing with cancer. It is also a place to share information, stories, laughs and feelings, and to find comfort, understanding and a warm, knowing touch. “In the hearing and the telling is the healing”.
Confidentiality is an important mainstay of the group. That means never discussing, without direct consent, the circumstances of another group member. For further information, call the main office of the First Congregational Church at 203 245-2739, ext. 20
