Donated to the town in 1990 by Erwin Bauer, Bauer Park hosts a variety of community and educational events each yearMore including a Harvest Festival in late October. Several community gardens, including one dedicated to organic gardening, are located here. Honeybee hives are located on the west side of the pond. The park is popular place for dog walkers and has several woodland trails nearby. There is also a very small outdoor amphitheater/classroom that can accommodate about 30 people.

The original farmhouse was purchased by Constantine and Louisa Bauer, Erwin's parents, around 1904 when they moved to town from Brooklyn, NY.
