This harridan should have been disbarred, and held for obstruction charges after the Vince FosterRead More affair. She had his office sealed. She broke the law.She did not have the authority to do that. She was a do nothing Senator, and an incompetent, criminally negligent Secretary of State.

At this point " what difference does it make". Obama has made a mess (with her help) andRead More I do not see anyone willing or able to turn it around. She has no experience, no accomplishments and has been in the middle of so many scandals and Un-American policy issues.

This sentence is absurd - "played a central role in restoring America's standing in theRead More world" - she is as shameful as anyone, let's not forget "what's the difference" when referring to Americans killed in Benghazi. Even as she expresses her regrets, she pretended that the reason she did not act to beef up security at the compound, and that she lied afterward, blaming the attack on an Internet video, was “imperfect” intelligence information. She's another obama, blame the other guy. She is as unsuited to be president as obama.

Wouldn't the fairest admission to University be judged completely by scholastic ability ? ThatRead More would mean not accepting students because of sex, color, class, ethnicity, or prior connection to the school. The college population might become a little "lopsided," but wouldn't the result be more intelligent young people to go on to graduate school ? America, and the general public would benefit because in our midst would be the best scientists, doctors, instructors, etc. for us to call upon ? Our country would become stronger still, which seems to become more urgent with every passing day.

If you added the maintenance expenses, value of your time for DIY projects, inflation, propertyRead More taxes, mortgage interest, home insurance, and anything else I can't think of, this may be true. But when you buy a home, hopefully it's an investment that you get a lot of use from, enjoy, get tax breaks from, capital gains from the sales (IRS code too complicated to detail), it gives you and your family space (vs. a city apartment). In other words, it may not be a money maker for everyone. But unlike the stock market, you can live in this asset. Sometimes you buy what you want because you really want it, even if it's not a great investment (I.e. Cars, refrigerators). I will say that I miss having a landlord who took care of the whole place!

Stating that the history books are anti US and pro global without any proof is very misleading. So of course some textbooks about the history of the world might not mention the United States. It didn't exist yet.

Comments like "back when I was in school" are completely laughable. I don't brag aboutRead More beating my kid in a foot race because I'm faster then he is. So why should me being able to solve a math problem faster then him mean that the new way doesn't work? I've been using math for decades and he'll be just beginning to learn it. Of course I'm going to know the answer before him. Also, what's wrong with setting higher standards for our kids? When I was in school my "reading and basic learning level" was always a grade or two above my actual grade level. It's easier for them to learn new things when they are younger then it is when they're older.

Agranon - I'm a moron because I am tired of everybody and his mother trying to put themselves inRead More every story? Then so be it - I'm a moron. To be honest, I am also really tired of all the people that were compelled to run the Boston Marathon because "I had to finish for all those who couldn't." Get over yourself. It was a tragedy. Those responsible should be ripped apart by dogs. I sincerely hope the families of those affected can move on somehow. But how does Mary Jane Smith running the marathon help ANYBODY but herself? She's not doing it for "those who can't". She's doing it to maybe get on TV and she's probably feeling a little sanctimonious because she ran 26.2 miles and you didn't. Here's more... FromRead More http://www.climate.gov/news-features/climate-qa/why-did-earth%E2%80%99s-surface-temperature-stop-rising-past-decade Why did Earth’s surface temperature stop rising in the past decade? The most likely explanation for the lack of significant warming at the Earth’s surface in the past decade or so is that natural climate cycles—a series of La Niña events and a negative phase of the lesser-known Pacific Decadal Oscillation—caused shifts in ocean circulation patterns that moved some excess heat into the deep ocean. Hmmmm... So much for your theory that the Earth has been warming for the last 140 years! You also say "It has had the most precipitous rate of warming in the past 40 years". No, sorry, not true again. You can't just make stuff up and expect that everyone will believe you.

Kendall Svengalis April 22, 2014 at 11:46 am
The ICLEI site listed above is nothing more than ICLEI propaganda central. Among its goals:Read More combatting "climate change" based on the fraud of global warming. Beware whenever you read or hear the words "carbon footprint," or "climate protection." These are just U.N. sponsored buzzwords and efforts to intrude into matters of local control, property rights, and freedom. ironically, as globally-average temperatures have flatlined for the past 17 years, the U.N. has gotten more shrill in its predictions of "catastrophic global warming." Why? Because they're losing the debate and are afraid they won't have the rationale for global income redistribuition. At the heart of the global warming fraud is the notion that the mild (one-third of a degree Celsius) and brief (1978-1997) temperature rise we experienced was caused by carbon dioxide. This has never been more than a half-baked theory. In actuality, climate is controlled overwhelmingly by the sun and the earth's positionalrelationship to it playing out over geologic time, not short-term political cycles. Scientists are now coming to the realization that sun-induced cosmic rays and their effect on cloud cover may have a far greater impact on climatic variability. The primary reason CO2 was implicated, and supported by the environmental extremists, is that it can be used as an instrument of control. If it's the sun, we simply have to learn how to adapt. What's amazing is the amount of hyperbole that has been generated, and donations solicited by environmental groups on the basis of this fraudulent theory. We escaped a bullet a few years ago when the Senate refused to go along with Obama's "cap and trade" legislation, but not before CT's entire Congressional dlegation voted for the nonsense. Obama's own Treasury Dept. estimated the annual cost of "cap and trade" at $1,742 per family. Other studies projected the cost at $3,000, rising to $4,000 annually per family by 2032. And this all because of a one-third of a degree rise in globally averaged tempartures that had already stopped for 12 years by the time the House voted. Even now, Senators Murphy and Blumenthal are pushing the carbon dioxide fraud. Just further proof that liberalism is a mental disorder. Recently, Green guru and geophysicist James Lovelock, author of the Gaia hypothesis, and considered one of the pioneering scientists of the 20th century, officially turned his back on man-made global warming claims and the green movement’s focus on renewable energy. "Global warming" or "climate change"(the new term adopted because there has been no warming for 17 years) are the new religion, just as Lovelock says. Both the scientific community and the general public have awakened to the scam, the phenomenon of which speaks more to the human capacity for self-delusion than rational thought.

@Kendall - you're certainly entitled to your opinion, though the politicizing of science isRead More inherently dangerous. You make several statements that are misleading at best, and I suspect that politicization of the issue has clouded your rational thought as well. I don't expect you to agree with me - or thousands of scientists - because your mind is set on believing that the vast majority of the scientific community is of a liberal leaning, money grabbing bent. You know that "conservative" scientists also work on the issue and agree with the climate change/warming consensus? Anyway, for anyone still reading, take time to inform yourself and try to remove ALL politics from your understanding of science. National Geographic does a great job in its online coverage of the issue, including this: http://energyblog.nationalgeographic.com/2010/12/21/climate-change-myth/ (In partnership with Shell Oil, lest anyone claim it's a liberal anti-business agenda).
