Way to go Stephen! Thank you Patch for sharing the positive news about our Madison youth. Eagle…Read More Scouts are dedicated to so many things, the environment and its preservation. No easy tasks. I am not a hiker...or nature person but appreciate Stephen's efforts to restore and improve our natural settings. All good wishes to you Stephen for a bright and promising future. Thank you.

This is a very dignified event held annually at our town green's memorial stones. It is an event…Read More that makes Madison special! The first remark was unnecessary and uncalled for. I am proud that our family takes the time to participate annually and take a moment to remember the missing and decease Veteran's from so many wars around the world.
Note that the American Legion Post 79 (Bradley Road across from the ball firld and next to the Senior Center) has begun the construction of a Veteran's Memorial Walkway" at their flag pole. For a small donation, you can have a brick engraved and have your Veteran remembered! And it foes not have to be a Madison born beteran. Very similar to the Madison Clock project and the James Madison Bust Project. Contact Doc Swenson at 203-909-1317 for engraving forms. There is a beautiful granite headstone already at the site (Pem-you should do a story with Doc). Thank you to the Veterans for their efforts.

Very nice, but I have to ask where was the POW/MIA flag made? In the USA I hope.

Thanks for letting us know, Cathy! I will include that in the article.
Ted Aub just posted an event…Read More reminder notice of the POW/MIA ceremony Sept. 21st. I also am going to run a "Save The Date" reminder this coming weekend, and have circulated the announcement to other Patch towns.
I too, hope we see a good turnout for such an important service.

Members of Boy Scout Troops 491 and 490 also participated in the service like they do each and every…Read More year. As did their Leadership. This evening they brought their Troop Banners and were center stage next to Madison Uniformed police. They handed out 9-11 pins and small US Flags. On September 21st, this same group will be participating in the POW Candlelight Service on the Green. Perhaps Madisin Residents will also come out for this. I applaud the effort of the Scouts to participate. They participate in after school sports, get home and get into their uniforms and with the help of their parents hit the Green before returning back to DHHS for their next activity!!
