This Weekend: Old Time Fair In North Guilford! Yoga by the Sea In Madison, Flea Market, Shoreline Youth Triathlon And More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some shoreline events taking place from Aug. 16 to Aug. 18 throughout the area.

Looking for something to do this weekend? There's plenty going on here along the shoreline over the next few days.

The event we are most excited about is an old timey fair in North Guilford. Celebrating its 51st year, the Old Time Fair in North Guilford will feature live music, a basket raffle, and a silent auction. You'll be able to shop for books, vintage tools, linens, toys, fair trade items, jewelry. Gorgeous quilts will be on display.

"Feel the excitement as the auctioneer chants and bidders battle for bargains under the big tent," the fair's Facebook page says. "The kids will love riding Little Toot and meeting the animals at the Little Farm. Dig into our signature Peach Shortcake, chowder, burgers, sandwiches and salads, sno cones, popcorn, and other goodies. Take home some home-baked items from the pantry shelf. Most of all just relax and enjoy meeting with friends and neighbors."

Admission is free, but it probably makes sense to bring some money. It sounds like there'll be plenty of fun and lots of goodies to bring home. The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. And on Sunday, there will be an Old Time Tent Worship, also in North Guilford, at 159 Ledge Hill Road.

Also in Guilford this weekend, is the St. John's Episcopal Church 51st Annual Chicken Barbecue at 4:00 PM on Saturday. You could roll there right after the old time fest! And on Sunday, on the Guilford Green, check out the Concert on the Green at 6:30 pm, featuring Midnight Rodeo. So much fun, so little time.
