She loves to swim, and Kings of Leon is her favorite band. Megan chose a shopping spree because above all else, she loves to shop. According to her wish granters, she is a big fanatic when it comes to shoes and clothes, so a day of picking out her favorite brands and styles, was a dream come true. Megan’s favorite store is Rue21, so that was on her list of stops during her shopping trip last month, along with the Apple Store. Megan also planned a special lunch break at the California Pizza Kitchen in the West Farms Mall. Megan is a pizza fan, so the lunch was a nice bonus to a fun-filled day.
As part of a renewed three-year, $3 million alliance, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® named the company a National Wish Champion. Each of the Foundation’s 62 chapters is eligible to receive wish-granting funds through the program allowing chapters to grant wishes in their communities. UnitedHealth Group has funded more than 1,250 wishes beginning with its three-year, $4.5 million alliance in 2007.
“We are very happy to see that UnitedHealthcare’s national alliance with the Make-A-Wish Foundation is able to provide Megan with her wish,” said Jeff Alter, Regional CEO of UnitedHealthcare. “As a health and well-being company, we work every day to make a difference in our communities, and we are honored to be a part of this wish.”
