Madison Beach Hotel Fills The Gap On Fireworks Donations

Newly re-opened hotel is largest donor at $3,000. Several individuals and a business made $1,000 donations. In all, there were 322 donors with donations ranging from $5 to $3,000. Thanks to everyone who donated.

 

Madison residents and visitors alike will be able to enjoy fireworks thanks to the generosity of 322 donors, including Madison Beach Hotel, which has offered a $3,000 donation to make sure the entire $15,000 cost of the celebration was covered.

Madison Beach Hotel was one of several large donors this year. There were two individuals who made $1,000 donations and one business that made a $1,000 donation, Lee said.

Donations were running behind last year's pace when Madison Beach Hotel stepped in to make up the difference, says Marietta Lee, of the Madison Fireworks organization, a private non-profit organization that raises the money for the celebration.

"We are very grateful to the Madison Beach Hotel for their generous donation. They are the largest donor this year," Lee said. "Ric and Dawn Duques are longtime Madison residents and know Madison's Independence Day celebration is truly special."

Money left over after this year's celebration will be applied to next year's event.
