Thank you to the Murphy family for providing us with this this information:
Congratulations to Eagle Scout Andrew Murphy of Troop 494, North Madison Volunteer Fire Department, and to his Eagle Advisor Larry Kilburn and Eagle Project Sponsor Michael Ott, Director of Public Works and Town Engineer.
In honor of Andrew's achievement, Wendy and Scott Murphy of Madison with Troop 494 conducted an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on June 22, at the North Madison Congregational Church in Madison, CT.
Eagle Scout is the highest rank a boy scout can achieve. Few boys move up through the ranks of scouting and only a handful make it all the way to Eagle. We are so very proud of his dedication and achievement.
For his Eagle project, Andrew built a coastal forest trail at Constitution Park in Madison, CT which will benefit the entire community and its guests. It can be entered from the back trail (the old run way) and weaves down by the wetlands overlooking the sound.
In order to complete this project, Andrew demonstrated important organizational and leadership skills that he will utilize for the rest of his life.
Senator Christopher Murphy was in attendance and made a presentation on Andrew’s behalf. He presented him with a US flag that had been flown over the US Capitol in his honor.
