Prom 101: Beauty Preparation

The Timothy Pamment Salon's Prom-Prep Tips

For Junior and Senior high school students, the end of the school year is celebrated with many well-deserved events such as senior nights, class trips, and the most highly anticipated event, prom.

The Timothy Pamment Salon has prepared their list of key prom beauty preparation steps.  After the dress, hair and makeup are extremely important in completing the overall glamorous evening look.

One month before

  • Book your free hair and makeup consultation.  Budget about thirty minutes for this consultation.
  • Book your beauty services for the big day!

One week before

  • If you color your hair, make an appointment to have it ‘touched up’ with some color, highlights, and a treatment
  • Organize a “Prom Survival Kit.”  Some recommended items include: hair spray, anti humidity spray, nail polish, bobby pins, tissues, safety pins, a stain stick, and a water bottle!

Day Before

  • Wash your hair and blowout straight.  Avoid using a flat iron if at all possible.  Hair becomes difficult to work with after ironed straight.

        Note: Some stylists may ask you to let your hair dry naturally

  • Refrain from putting any styling products in your hair

Day Of

  • Thoroughly wash your face, apply a mask, and moisturize your skin
  • Wear a button down shirt to your hair and makeup appointment
  • Come prepared to be pampered!
