Take A Weekend Tour Of Historic Guilford

High school students lead animated walking tours of historic downtown Guilford

 

The Guilford Preservation Alliance is teaming up with students from Guilford High School to bring historic downtown Guilford to life, the New Haven Register reports. 

Student-guided walking tours of Guilford's history-packed downtown area kicked off last weekend, the article says, and they're held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

According to The Register, the tour guides share the stories of original residents, the architecture of Guilford's oldest buildings and how the town green came to be. 

The plan is to hold these tours every summer, the article says.

Tours meet at the Guilford Town Hall, located at 31 Park St. Adults pay $8, seniors and children ages 7 to 12 pay $6 and kids 6 and under tour for free. A family rate of $20 is also offered.
