Scenes From OpSail 2012 [Video]

From the massive Carter Hall to tiny kayaks, people get out onto the waterfront to have some fun and view the magnificent ships.

OpSail 2012 got off to a bit of a late start Saturday, as the process of untangling an anchor chain and slack winds out of Niantic meant the Coast Guard barque Eagle and the Navy's USS Carter Hall started up the Thames River closer to noon than 10 a.m. The crowds at and bore the delay patiently, however, checking out the musical entertainment and other attractions available.

The festivals continue through Sunday with ship tours, a 5k running race, amusement rides and games, and musical entertainment. Monday is Sail Away Day, which can be viewed from several venues.
