Independence Day Weekend Continues: Concert On The Green July 6th

The concert on the green is an alcohol-free event. The police say so. Madison Cultural Arts says so. Let's set a good example for our kids and follow that rule this year.

The Concert on the Green will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 beginning at 5:00 with the Youth Symphony.  Due to the large number of people expected to attend, everyone is encouraged to arrive early as there will be traffic delays and parking restrictions.  The Concert on the Green is an alcohol-free event.  NO ALCOHOL is allowed on the Madison Town Green.  There will be no parking posted in the area including Copse Road from Bradley Road to Britton Lane.

Madison Cultural Arts presents the 31st Annual Concert on the Green sponsored by Guilford Savings Bank, on Saturday, July 6, 2013 on the Madison Town Green. 

The concert starts at 5:00 PM with the Shoreline Youth Symphony Orchestra.  The popular Manchester Pipe Band returns this year at 6:15 PM.  At 7:00 PM the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra (WSO) takes the stage with “The Great American Songbook” performing selections from Gershwin to Duke Ellington 
to a salute to Frank Sinatra. Vocalists Lisa Sacramone, Lyra Olson and Charles 
Calotta will assist the WSO in exploring the roots of our American Classics.

The finale will include the patriotic pieces that are always a favorite part of 
the concert. Admission is free, with limited reserved seating areas closer to the stage for concert patrons who donate $60 or more.  

MCA’s lease with the First Congregational Church of Madison for use of the Green stipulates that the concert be an alcohol-free event and that space cannot 
be reserved on the Green prior to 6:00 AM on July 6th.

Note change of venue that in the event of rain: the WSO will perform at Daniel Hand High School at 7:00PM for the first 600 concert patrons to arrive.
