It was a hot weekend, but that didn't keep the crowds away!
According to WTNH, , like other state parks in Connecticut, was pretty busy this past weekend.
The Madison park's campground was filled to capacity on Sunday, the article says, noting that last year camping spots sold out.
"There [are] all kinds of people, all kinds of parties," Wayne Bizier, visiting from Bristol, told WTNH. "It's just nice to get away and it's better than being home."
Henry Alves, Hammonasset Beach State Park Supervisory, told WTNH that he expects to be "very busy" this week.
According to the article, close to 25,000 people visit Hammonasset each day when there is favorable weather over a holiday week.
"The Fourth of July is like a typical holiday, especially with the way the weather is for the beach," Alves told WTNH.
