CT Trails Day Celebration Is This Weekend

Close to 200 events are planned across the state

It's time to lace up those hiking boots--it's time to celebrate Connecticut Trails Day!

The Connecticut Forest & Park Association has put together a full weekend of trail-tastic events taking place across the state.

The theme for this year's celebration, which will take place on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3, is "America's Largest TRAILgating Party."

According to the Connecticut Forest & Park Association's website, 193 enticing events are planned for this weekend, taking place in 121 towns encompassing more than 540 miles of trails.

Here's what's happening in Madison this weekend:

  • Educational Walk - Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hammonasset Beach State Park
  • Horseback Ride & Trail Maintenance - Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rockland, James Valley and Braemore Preserves
