Tigers Defeat Cheshire 31-14 (With Video)

With eight minutes left in the first half, the Daniel Hand Football Team found themselves trailing Cheshire 7-6.  It was starting to look like it would be the close game that people were predicting between these two similar teams.  Hand then scored the next 25 unanswered points to dispel that theory.  With one minute left in the game Hand was leading 31-7 and Cheshire added one long pass play for a touchdown to make the Final Score 31-14.  

The Hand defense was dominant and forced a critical turnover in the third quarter when Eddy O’Neill stripped the ball from the Cheshire quarterback and it was picked up by Peter Gerson and returned inside the Rams five yard line.  (See sequence of photos above.)  

The Tigers will will return to the Surf Club next Friday night at 7 p.m. to face Notre Dame - West Haven.
