Madison's MacKenzie Hawkes Earns Junior Girl Player Of The Year Honors!

Hawkes, who shot a 3-over-par 74 in the tournament held at Shennecossett GC in Groton, finished with 890.83 points.

 

"MacKenzie Hawkes of Madison finished second in the Jack Kelly Junior Tournament of Champions Sunday and compiled enough points to hold off Jenn Whaley to earn the Connecticut Section's Junior Girls' Player of the Year race," Patch reader Barbara Parker reports.

"Hawkes, who shot a 3-over-par 74 in the tournament held at Shennecossett GC in Groton, finished with 890.83 points," Parker said.

The Country School of Madison also reports on their Facebook page that Hawkes is putting her golfing skills to good use to help her alma mater:

Last week she was playing with her Country School friends in the TCS Golf Classic, helping to raise funds for the Founders' Promise Fund for Scholarship. A few days later, she won the title of CT PGA Junior Girl Player of the Year! Way to go, MacKenzie Hawkes '11!!!
