Mica Ledges Trail Hike

Join the Madison Land Conservation Trust for a "Second Sunday" hike on the Mica Ledges.  We will see spectacular views of Long Island Sound from the ridge top.  Bring your camera to take photos for the 2011 MLCT Photo Contest.  The hike will last about 2 hours.  Hikers should be ready for some steep rocky slopes.  Sturdy boots are recommended, and dogs must be on a leash.  In the event of rain or high winds, the hike will be canceled.

Directions:  The Mica Ledges trail head is at the end of Cream Pot Road in Durham.  From the Madison traffic circle, take Rte. 79 north 7.9 miles to Rte. 17, then take a sharp left turn on Rte. 17 South.  Continue 0.1 mile south to Rte. 77.  Follow Rte. 77 south (left) 0.7 mile to Cream Pot Road on the left (east) side of the road between two pillars.  Follow Cream Pot past the Durham town maintenance yard bearing right up the hill.  Continue to the top of the hill where the road ends at the Mica Ledges Trail.
