DHHS Track Stars Shine At Emerging Elite New Balance Nationals in NC

Daniel Hand High School's relay teams posted a stellar showing at the Emerging Elite New Balance Nationals in Greensboro, NC recently.

In addition to both teams qualifying for the national event, the 1600m spring medley team came in second for a silver medal.

At the elite national event, held at AT&T University, the 4x2 also posted a strong showing. That team included Molly Citrin (sophomore), Justine Griffin (junior), Emily Shafer (junior), and Samantha Schaefer (sophomore).

The 1600m Sprint Medley Relay team that came in 2nd place overall winning a silver included Justine Griffin running a 200m, Samantha Schaefer running a 200m, Lauren Brady running a 400m, and Katie Phillips running an 800m

"All of the girls ran their best and the relay showed much better that where they were seeded!!" reports one of the (justifiably) proud parents.

Congratulations to all of the girls for their hard work this season and for the exciting finish! We'll look forward to seeing you next season!
