Cheerleaders Celebrate At Cheer Night

More than 90 cheerleaders participate.

At the HAND football game on October 28th against West Haven, the Daniel Hand Cheerleaders (DHHS) celebrated our 7th Madison Youth Cheer night with the Madison Youth Cheerleading (MYC) organization.   Over 90 cheerleading athletes from MYC joined the DHHS Varsity and JV cheerleaders in a half time performance at Strong field.

The youth cheerleading organization had record breaking numbers this year, along with DHHS having it's first JV squad ever.  This night gives our cheerleaders a wonderful opportunity to showcase their athletic skills by completing a cheer and pyramid during the half time performance.

This performance was followed by the DHHS Varsity cheerleaders performing a highly athletic performance that contained gymnastics, jumps, pyramids and dance.  The cheerleaders are coached by Michelle Kaufmann and Licia Ciotti.

This year, the cheerleaders also decided to complete a fundraiser for Breast Cancer and raised $162.  All wore bright pink ribbons during the game to raise awareness for this important cause.

Special thanks to our DHHS Athletic Director, Craig Semple that encourages these community events, our hard working volunteer MYC coaches, parents, and our community supporters in Madison that helped make this night a huge success.  Congratulations to all our cheerleaders.
