Band Of Brothers And Lil' Sis Too

When the SCC wrestling Tournament comes to Madison this Friday and Saturday it will be hard to miss the Elias brothers. The three oldest boys, Justin, 17, Matthew, 16, and Petie, 14, will be wrestling for Daniel Hand, and 12-year-old Michael will be at a tournament with Polson Middle school.

Just as easy to spot will be their biggest fan, eight-year-old little sister
Bridgett.

"She went to her first match when she was just a week old" says mom Colleen, who is also the wrestling team's bus driver. "She likes to
wrestle with them too, but I think she'd rather be doing gymnastics."

A few years back dad Peter got a piece of a wrestling mat and put it in the barn, just to save the house from all the spontaneous matches that would occur in every room. Everyone pitches in to support the boys, even at mealtime.

"We are all really tired of skinless chicken by the end of the season," says
Colleen "because we really like our pasta and cheeseburgers."

Justin will be graduating this year with plans of becoming a teacher. Even with three more still wrestling, Colleen says it will be hard to watch him graduate.

"He's been wrestling for 12 years, since he was 5 years old, it's going to be really tough not to see him as part of the team."

The Southern Connecticut Conference Wrestling Championships will take place Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 At 09:00 a.m. in auditorium next to gym on Green Hill Road in Madison, CT.
