Valentine Desserts
Panna Cotta or Molten Chocolate Cake? You can't choose a wrong Valentine's Day dessert at the Madison Beach Hotel
If you're coming into The Wharf for Valentine’s Day (and you should!), you won't want to miss our special prix fixe menu! Chef Brendan has created a wonderful meal for you, and I've finished it off with a couple of my favorite sweet treats.
The first is a creamy mascarpone and vanilla bean panna cotta. Panna cotta literally means "cooked cream", referencing the method of making this dessert. The cream, sugar, and vanilla bean are scalded, heated to just before boiling, and then gelatin is added. The mixture is then combined with sour cream and mascarpone cheese, and refrigerated for at least four hours before being turned out of the molds. The panna cotta makes a great gluten free option and will be served with raspberry sauce and fresh berries – yum!
The second dessert option is a decadent molten chocolate cake. This cake is served warm, spilling gooey, decadent chocolate onto your plate as you break into it. Served with chocolate sauce, raspberry sauce, and a chocolate covered strawberry, this is treat you won’t want to miss.
