Ride the Sriracha Tidal Wave

Sriracha is a delicious force to be reckoned with. Try our recipe for Sriracha mayo to spice up your meals!

If you haven’t tried Sriracha yet, chances are you’ve at least heard of it. So what is Sriracha? Sriracha is an Asian hot chili sauce comprised of hot chili peppers, distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar, and salt.  It originates from the coastal city of Si Racha, on the Eastern side of Thailand. Although from Thailand, it is popular in many other Asian countries as well, including Vietnam and Korea. It is commonly used for seafood dishes, and as a condiment in their regional cuisines.

Sriracha has been a staple of my kitchen inventory for several years and I always have a bottle at home. Today, you can find many food products using Sriracha, such as beef jerky, popcorn, lollipops, and potato chips. Our most popular use of Sriracha at The Wharf is in our Tuna Tartar dish, where we use our own recipe of Sriracha mayo as the sauce. Sriracha is great on just about anything, from soups to sandwiches, to raw seafood and Vietnamese Pho. If you are looking to add that extra kick in meal, I highly suggest trying Sriracha.

But remember, a little goes a long way. Try this recipe for Sriracha Mayo, and let us know what you think!
