Step, Ball, Change
Jeanne Ray
This book by Jeanne Ray happened to be the first book I read by the author. Laugh out loud funny in places and in some spots a bit sappy, but overall the won me over.
Weddings, break-ups and house repairs all conspire against a family in flux.
Caroline’s daughter, Kay is getting married to a rich eligible man.
Caroline’s sister, Taffy is grief stricken over her marriage crumbling.
And Caroline’s house is literally crumbling as well.
The contractors hired to repair the house may as well have moved in they are at the house so often. Funny book. Give it a try. I’m sure you’ll agree.
Last Noel
Michael Malone
Another sweet story.
This one about two friends from divergent backgrounds growing up in the south. Noni Tilden and Kaye King grow up and grow close as their lives are drawn together through many challenging times. Loved this book and as I said about Step Ball Change above The Last Noel can be a bit sappy, however I can be such a sap sometimes and I’ll be honest here, I choked up a bit when I read the last few pages. This is the PERFECT time to read this as the Christmas season is upon us.
This is a MUST read!
Until next time…
