VIBE Shines At New England Show Choir Classic!

Next? Nutmeg Show Choir Festival. Also, concert at the DHHS Dining and Assembly Hall planned for Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2013. Save the date and stay tuned for details

Daniel Hand High School's, nationally ranked competitive show choir, VIBE competed in the New England Show Choir Classic on March 2, 2013 in Somerset, MA.  Vibe was selected by a panel of judges as First Runner Up by less than 12 out of 600 points. The group also was honored  as having the Best Vocal Sound and the Pit Band was chosen as Number 1 by the judges.    Eileen Creaser was chosen as Best Female Vocalist and Matt Speed the Best Male Vocalist among the 15 groups in the competitions.

The group lead by Ron Soja consists of 44 multi-talented performers, who tell the Snow White Fairy Tale with a contemporary arrangement of songs and dancing.  Vibe's Show Choir Band, directed by student Emily Viloudaki with over 10 members, are responsible for orchestrating and arranging all the instrumentation to support the show.  The Choir and Band are supported by 4 members of the Stage Crew, who manage the stage sets and set up. 

Vibe travels all over New England competing in events.  Last year the group traveled to  both NYC and Chicago to compete in the Show Choir National Championships. The group placed 13th in the National Competition.  This year Vibe is currently ranked in the top 25 nationally.

Next Saturday, March 9th, Vibe will compete in the Nutmeg Show Choir Festival at Windsor Locks High School, 58 S. Elm St., Windsor Locks, CT.  They are scheduled to perform at 8:20 p.m.

VIBE  is also planning a Concert at the Dining and Assembly Hall on Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2013, details to follow.
