Students Entering Brown Or Polson Encouraged To Sign Up For Middle School Math Challenge

A Little Bit Of Math Each Day Adds Up; Theatre Program Available As Well

Madison math teachers invite you to encourage your middle school child to participate in the Summer Math Challenge. Information on the program can be found by going to the Brown Middle School website, www.brownmiddleschool.org, and clicking on the link for Summer Math on the left-hand side of the page.

All students entering either Brown School or Polson School are encouraged to participate in the Summer Math Challenge by completing math-related activities during the summer and keeping a log of their work. A little bit of math each day really adds up. For example, if a child does nine minutes of math-related work per day, he or she will complete 10 hours of math practice over the summer!

Eligible students will be coming home with a letter and log sheet soon. All participants are asked to record their work over the summer and return their completed logs to their math teacher, either at Brown School or Polson School, at the beginning of the 2011-12 school year. Students who participate in the program will be acknowledged with their name on the Summer Math All-Stars wall in the cafeteria.
