Crew, Cast, And Pit Preparations Underway; Performances Scheduled For April 7, 8, 9

More than 140 students, staff, and volunteers from the Daniel Hand High School Hands-On-Stage Company are preparing for the spring musical, Fiddler on the Roof.

Jessica Littel, the assistant director, said there are about 50 students in the cast, about 68 in the crew, and about 22 musicians in the pit. Students working on the crew are getting some actual construction experience, thanks to volunteer and local builder Robert Speed, who is showing students how to properly frame and construct the buildings that will be used on the set, Littel said."That's something new for the kids," she said.

Performances on Thursday April 7, Friday April 8, and Saturday April 9 will be at 7 p.m. There also will be a 2 p.m. performance on Saturday. Tickets will be $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets will be sold in the main office, during lunch waves, and at R. J. Julia Booksellers in downtown Madison up until 5 p.m. the day of the show.
