Madison Lacrosse Player To Wrap Up Career At Dominican University

Geraldo Gonzalez has two upcoming games before closing out the season with the Dominican University Penguins

Geraldo Gonzalez of Madison has made a splash on the lacrosse team at the Dominican University of California, but his time with the Penguins will soon come to a close.

According to an email to Patch from Dominican's associate director of public relations, Dave Albee, the St. Thomas More High School graduate will play with his Division II team at the April 21 game against Whittier College and on April 28 against rival Notre Dame de Namur of Belmont to wrap up his college lacrosse career.

Albee told Patch that Domican's lacrosse program has greatly improved during Gonzalez's time at the school.

"When Geraldo arrived at Dominican four years ago, the team barely had enough players to field a team," Albee said in the email.

Now the Penguins have 34 players on the roster, Albee said, and their college lacrosse program is now considered to be one of the best in the Bay Area.

Patch wishes Geraldo and the Penguins the best of luck for the remainder of the season.
