DHHS Cross Country Runs the Winding Trails Invitational In Farmington

The Daniel Hand Cross Country Boys and Girls Teams participated in the Winding Trails Cross Country Invitational Meet on September 29, 2012 in Farmington. Faced with a difficult hilly and wooded course, the DHHS Varsity Boys Team finished 4th behind Newtown, the home team of Farmington and Fairfield.  The Top 20 Varsity Boys Finishers were senior Zach Gardner (13th- 17:07) and sophomore Kevin Clarke (17th - 17:33.9).

Varsity runners contributing to the team score were Griffin Pardales, Adam Taylor, Jack Lazor, Kyle Boling and Connor Favre.  Making the Top 20 Fastest JV Boys Runners was Billy Chupp who was 13th in his race.

In the Varisity Girl race, Daniel Hand came in 5th with 3 runners in the Top 20. Kathryn Phillips took the 4th spot with a time of 20:13.  Sheila Flaherty followed with 10th position at 20:42, Emma Zoeckler at 14th and 21:23.  Other runners contributing to the team, in order, were Kathleen Downes, Cassandra Barrow, Madeline Yaggi and Lauren McAllister.  Kate Mazzeo finished in the Top 20 Runners for Junior Varsity Girls.

The Boys Team is coached by Tim Geary and Assistant Coach Dave Tommaso. The Girls Team is coached by Steve Swift and Brent Ramsey.

Both DHHS Teams will be participating at the Wickham Invitational Meet, in Manchester, CT on Saturday, October 6th.
