DHHS Assistant Principal Dan Zittoun To Be Named Principal At Hall High School In West Hartford

"Mr. Zittoun's experience, collaborative style, flexibility, high expectations, sense of humor and unwillingness to give up on any student make him an excellent match for Hall High School."

In a message to Hall High School, Karen L. List, superintendent of West Hartford Schools, says she plans to name Dan Zittoun principal at Hall High School in West Hartford.

She says in the letter:

"Tonight, April 9th, I will inform the Board of Education that I am appointing Mr. Daniel Zittoun as the new principal of Hall High School. I do so with great enthusiasm and optimism. You clearly knew the needs of Hall, and in the end the process identified the person who will serve the school well. Mr. Daniel Zittoun comes to us from Madison, CT where he has served as the Assistant Principal of Daniel Hand High School since 2005. He also coaches varsity girls’ track and is assistant field hockey coach. Hand is a high performing high school with 1300 students and 121 teachers. Mr. Zittoun has worked in Madison his entire career also serving as an instructional technology specialist and fifth grade teacher. He received his B.S. and M.A. from the University of Connecticut and 6th year in Educational Leadership from Southern CT State University. He advocates for students from a strengths rather than deficient perspective, and is described as approachable, a listener, strong work ethic, highly visible, welcoming to parents, excellent communication skills, decisive, very visible, creates a positive school climate, responsive, and able to translate vision into action. Mr. Zittoun’s experience, collaborative style, flexibility, high expectations, sense of humor and unwillingness to give up on any student make him an excellent match for Hall High School. He will be a wonderful addition to our team with his drive for continuous improvement and tech savvy. Please join me in congratulating and welcoming him.  The Hall PTO will host an opportunity for you to meet him this spring.  My best wishes to each of you for a wonderful spring and summer and the promise that the new school year will bring."
