After Strong Season, Daniel Hand Hockey Eliminated by Branford 3-1

Hand's Mitch Brown got the Tigers on the scoreboard with 8:12 remaining in the game to make it close at 2-1. Tigers finish their season with a record of 12-7-2.

On Friday night, the Daniel Hand Tiger Hockey Team faced Branford in the quarterfinal round of the CIAC Division II Hockey playoffs.  The game was played at the Northford Ice Pavillion.  For the second time in a week the Tigers fell to the Hornets.  The last meeting was in the SCC DII Final last Saturday that Branford won 5-4 in OT.

The Tigers outshot the Hornets 29-20, but Branford Goalie, Alessandro Sarno was outstanding only allowing one shot to get by.  The Hornets had a goal in each of the first two periods and Hand's Mitch Brown got the Tigers on the scoreboard with 8:12 remaining in the game to make it close at 2-1.  However Branford did not repeat last week's third period letdown.  With 4:44 remaining Tyler Hackett put the Hornets back out in front 3-1, and that was the final score.
