Daniel Hand's show choir had its first competition today in Lowell, Massachusetts in the Mill City Show Choir Festival, competing with twelve other show choirs from New England, according to Ron Soja, choir director.

Vibe won
  • Grand Champions
  • Gold Medal
  • Best Choral Sound
  • Best Choreography
  • Best Rhythm Section
  • Judges award for performance: Mike Gilchrist
  • Judges award for outstanding instrumentalist: Nick Balow
And, when Vibe has its annual cabaret recently at the high school, they sold out all three shows!

The next competition is in Dudley, Massachusetts on Feb. 1. Good luck!

Amazing! I congratulate all the singers & choral director! As an alumni from DHHS's class of '73 (40 yrs. ago which is a lifetime) I was in Waes Haeil (not sure of the spelling). Our choral director was the wonderful, Mr. Charles Quigley. We did a concert exchange with Martha Vineyard's chorus. It might have been the first ever. We never did any competitions but wish we had, I think it must be a blast. But, singing is such a part of my life & I also was a member of Capella Cantorum, a local 100+ choir here in Southeastern Ct. I was also in my church choir. Music & singing is in all of you & will continue with you all your life. Congratulations for a job well done. Just wondering, I had to audition for Waes Haeil, is your choral group the only one that you audition for & do you think that your choral group is the same basic type of choral group my Waes Haeil was in 1973?
