StudentCam is an annual documentary competition that encourages students to create short films about political and public policy matters.

This year's theme, "The Constitution and You," asked middle and high school students to select any provision of the U.S. Constitution and illustrate why it is important to them.

In addition to recognizing Stokes' outstanding documentary work and congratulating him in front of their peers on May 15th, Stokes' classmates at Daniel Hand High School had the opportunity to tour the Campaign 2012 Bus and learn about C-SPAN's public affairs programming and resources.

Stokes focused on the First Amendment to the Constitution for his work:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
