Police Report Accident At Intersection Of Durham Road And Overbrook; Winter Weather Advisory In Effect Monday, Feb. 21

Madison Police are reporting at accident at the intersection of Durham Road and Overbrook Road Monday morning, as a light snowfall continued, making the roads slippery despite the efforts of state and local public works crews to keep up. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory until 2 p.m. Monday for New Haven county. Accumulations could be three to four inches, the NWS says. Visibilities could be a half mile or less at times.

"There will be light to moderate snow this morning, then the snow will gradually taper off from west to east early afternoon," the National Weather Service said. "Expect hazardous road conditions .. into Monday morning due to snow-covered roads and reduced visibilities ... use caution while driving."

The weather forecast for the rest of the week is as follows, according to the National Weather Service:

Tonight: A slight chance of snow between midnight and 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13. North wind between 10 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 30. North wind around 11 mph.

Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 14. North wind around 11 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 37. North wind between 8 and 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 23.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42.

Thursday Night: A chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 41. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
