Weather For The Week: A Few Sunny Days, then Some Uncertainty

A high pressure system will keep the weather nice through Tuesday, the National Weather Service says, but we could be in for some showers and cloudy weather the rest of the week. With the Durham Fair scheduled to start this weekend, many are keeping an anxioius eye on the forecast, but the National Weather Service is saying it's still too early too tell. Right now, the forecast is calling for clouds and some rain, but here's hoping that will change.

"Surface high pressure will remain in control through Tuesday with the high pushig off the East Coast Monday night," the NWS says. "A cold front approaches form the west Wednseday, then moves across the tri-state Wednsday night, followed by Canadian high pressure towards the region for the end of the upcoming work week. Several waves of low pressure may affect the area for the weekend into early next week."

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Light northwest wind becoming west 6 to 11 mph in the morning.
Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 44. Southwest wind 3 to 5 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 72. Light southwest wind becoming south 8 to 13 mph in the morning.
Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Wednesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. South wind 8 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.
