Selectman Noreen Kokoruda To Resign; Diane Stadterman To Fill Vacancy For Remainder Of Term

Selectmen Call Special Meeting For July 1st To Make It Official

Noreen Kokoruda will resign from the Board of Selectmen Friday, July 1 at a special meeting at 8:30 a.m., and  Diane Stadterman will be appointed to fill the vacancy for the remainder of term, until November 2011.

At the same meeting, the selectmen will discuss and take action on appointing Selectman Joseph MacDougald as Acting First Selectman, a position that was held by Kokoruda. The Acting First Selectman acts for the First Selectman in his absence.

Kokoruda is resigning because she also is a state representative and she found that the demands of both jobs were too much for one person.

Stadterman is a member of the town's Planning and Zoning Commission and has served the town in several other capacities over the years.

“Diane has amply proven her value to this town through her service on the Planning and Zoning Commission, as a vice chairman of the Senior Center/Ambulance Building Project and as a member of the high school building committee," said First Selectman Fillmore McPherson. "She has been a big factor in bringing these projects in on time and within budget.”
