Ten rescued horses will be included in the University of Connecticut's Annual Spring Horse Auction and Tack and Equipment Tag Sale on Saturday, April 28, State Agriculture Commissioner Steven K. Reviczky announced.
According to the press release, the animals have been rehabilitated at the Department of Agriculture's Second Chance Large Animal Rehabilitation Facility in Niantic, which takes in animals from situations of neglect or cruelty.
The horses included in the auction have current health certificates and vaccination, the state agriculture officals say, noting that each comes with a microchip.
The preview sale, which will be held at the UConn Horse Arena on Horse Barn Hill Road in Storrs, begins at 11 a.m. and the auction at 1 p.m.
