Madison Seniors To Have More Recreational Opportunities

The half acre parcel cost $303,000.

The Madison Senior Center is about to get much cooler as the Board of Selectmen approved spending $303,000 to purchase a half acre adjacent to the center at 23 Bradley Road, the New Haven Register reports.

This purchase allows the center to offer additional outdoor recreational opportunities for seniors. Currently, there is very little space at the existing site, and seniors are bussed off-site for programs such as bocce, the Register’s Sean Carlin reports.

There is talk of moving bocce there, adding picnic tables and even possibly adding a golf putting green, the Register reports. A house on the site would have to be demolished.
