Requests to seal the sexual assault case involving the alleged 2009 assault of a 13-year-old Madison girl have been denied by Judge Jonathan Silbert, the New Haven Register is reporting.
According to the article, the judge has decided to allow the minors to use pseudonyms.
“It is clear from the foregoing that sealing an entire file is not to be undertaken except under the most extraordinary of circumstances, so extraordinary, in fact, that no court has sealed a file since the advent of the current sealing procedures,” the article says, quoting the judge's ruling.
“This court does not find the existence of any such circumstances in this case that approach a level that could justify total sealing of the file.”
A copy of the memorandum is posted on the Register website below the article.
