Citing the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, The Day says that staffing and funding for the state parks "are at historically low levels."

“It is no secret that Connecticut has some of the most beautiful state parks and forests in the country that provide countless outdoor recreational activities to our residents and visitors,” DEEP Commissioner Daniel C. Esty said in a Connecticut Forest & Park Association press release.
