Board of Selectmen Approve Numerous Board And Commission Appointments

Resignation of resignation of Dean Plummer from the Ad-Hoc Energy Committee accepted "with thanks for a job extraordinarily well done"

The tree warden, two cemetery sextons, and numerous board and commission members were appointed or reappointed earlier this week at the Board of Selectman's meeting. The selectmen expressed gratitude that they had so many people willing to volunteer their time for the available spots on the boards and commissions.

Action taken at the meeting on Dec. 20 includes:

  • promoting Glenn Pellici to the position of Building and Grounds Lead Maintainer, effective December 20
  • reappointing Robert Kuchta as Tree Warden for a term to expire 12/31/11. Approved.
  • Reappointing Donald Lewis as Sexton for the Hammonasset Cemetery and Richard Hahn as Sexton for the Rockland Cemetery for a two-year term to expire 1/1/2013

The board also approved the following recommendations on appointments and re-appointments from the Republican Town Committee:

  • Beach & Recreation Commission, Thomas Banish - 1/1/2015 and Paul Maxwell - 1/1/2015
  • Firemen's Benefit Committee, Joe Maco - 1/1/2015
  • Planning & Zoning, Henry Maguire - 1/1/2015
  • Senior Citizen Commission, Leslie Macarelli-Naizby - 1/1/2015 and Mitch Cohan - 1/1/2015
  • Shellfish Commission, Stephen Nikituk - 1/1/2015
  • Shellfish Commission Alternate, Paul Danielson - 1/1/2015
  • Madison Youth & Family Services, Kathleen Dess - 1/1/2015 and Susan Sadowski - 1/1/2015

The board also approved the following recommendations on appointments and re-appointments from the Democratic Town Committee:

  • Historic Commission, Eric Berg - 1/1/2015
  • Historic Commission Alternate, Thomas Boyle - 1/1/2015
  • Planning & Zoning Commission Alternate, Tracey Barrett - 1/1/2015
  • Senior Citizen Commission, Maureen Lopes - 1/1/2015, Barry Miller - 1/1/2015, Wendy Oberg - 1/1/2015
  • Shellfish Commission, Ted Raff - 1/1/2015, Perry Rianhard - 1/1/2015
  • Solid Waste Disposal Committee, Barry Miller - 1/1/2015
  • Madison Youth & Family Services, Joan Walker - 1/1/2015

The board also accepted, with "thanks for a job extraordinarily well done" the resignation of Dean Plummer from the Ad-Hoc Energy Committee.
