Access Health CT (AHCT) launched its toll-free call center today, providing consumers with a new and easy way to get information about health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).  Consumers can speak with a call center representative by dialing 1-855-805-HEALTH (4325) between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Monday through Friday and on Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

“Access Health CT is working hard to provide consumers with all the information they need to make these important choices about their health care coverage,” said Kevin Counihan, CEO of Access Health CT.  “In addition to our community outreach, our advertising campaign and our website, the call center will make it possible for Connecticut residents and small businesses to learn about their coverage options and to find out if they are eligible for financial help under the ACA.  On October 1st, consumers will be able to enroll via the call center as well.”

AHCT hired Maximus, a leading call center services provider based in Virginia, to establish the contact center operation.  Two locations will serve consumers seeking information about plans under AHCT – one in New York City and the other housed in the AHCT offices at 280 Trumbull St in Hartford CT.  The Connecticut call center will have 42 call center representatives, while the New York location will house 31.

“The professionals who will be answering calls have gone through extensive training in the intricacies of the plans with AHCT and the tax subsidies available under the law,” said Mr. Counihan.  “Further, they appreciate the complexities of health insurance enrollment.  We believe the call center will be a critical tool to help Connecticut residents and small businesses find the best health care coverage for them and their families.”
