State Police Say 57 Arrested For DWI Over Holiday Weekend

Two Fatal Accidents, 59 Accidents With Injury, And 281 Accidents Statewide Over Memorial Day Weekend, Police Say

The Connecticut State Police say that from May 24 to May 27, they investigated 281 motor vehicle accidents, 59 with reported injuries, and two that involved fatalities, one in West Hartford and one in North Stonington. 

State police say they used both traditional and non-traditional patrol cars over the holiday weekend during enforcement operations.

Over the holiday weekend troopers issued the following:

  • Speeding Violations 1,941
  • Seat belt Violations  718
  • Hazardous Moving Violation  4,294  
 Also, 57 people were arrested for DWI.

State Police across Connecticut continued this enforcement operation over the entire holiday weekend.

"Motorists are reminded as the summer months continue to voluntarily obey all rules of the road and report any suspected drunk driver to police as this is a true emergency," police said.
