Sexual Assault Reported on Metro-North; Metro-North Employee Is Suspect
Trains on the New Haven Line were temporarily delayed while police investigated.

Editor's Note: The Courant is reporting that a Metro-North employee has been apprehended in connection with the report of the sexual assault.
A man was detained by police Tuesday morning in relation to a reported sexual assault on a Metro-North train.
Fairfield officers assisted MTA Police, which reported that the sexual assault occurred on an eastbound train. Officers stopped and searched the train and surrounding area for the suspect, according to Fairfield Police Sgt. Suzanne Lussier. There were temporary delays on the New Haven Line as a result of the investigation.

A suspect matching a description provided by the victim and witnesses was detained on the Unquowa Road Bridge in downtown Fairfield and turned over to MTA Police, according to Lussier.
