Police Nab Bank Robbery Suspect

Bruce Vaughan, of no certain address, arrested and charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree larceny.

 

A 47-year-old man was arrested late Saturday after say he robbed the Bank of America branch on Washington Street in Middletown earlier that morning, making off with $7,000 in cash.

He was charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree larceny.

With the help of a citizen and the Investigative Services Division, by 1 p.m., police say the suspect was found to be Bruce Vaughan, of no certain address. He was tracked to an apartment in Hartford by 10 p.m. He was taken into custody without incident, and, the report says, confessed to the robbery.

Vaughan has a criminal history that includes numerous burglary, larceny and failure to appear charges.
