At Chestnut Hill and Nichols Hill Roads in North Madison; Pole and transformer may need to be replaced; CL&P not sure how long it will take to restore power.
A portion of a tree fell on power lines near Chestnut Hill and Nichols Hill Roads Thursday morning. The incident was reported around 6:21 a.m.
As of 10:27 a.m., there were still about 101 households in Madison without power, according to Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P). As of 11:40 a.m., CL&P was reporting only 10 households still without power in Madison.
"As always, we're working as quickly and safely as we can to restore power," said Mitch Gross, a spokesman for CL&P. "Right now we do not have a timetable or an estimated time for power restoration."

According to a report from Gabe Balsamo on Twitter, CL&P arrived with a new pole to replace the one that was snapped at about 11:10 a.m.
A neighborhood resident who spoke with a tree company on the scene said the tree company is waiting for CL&P to shut the power off so they can clear the trees off of the line, and then the pole and transformer will be replaced. "So it sounds like an all-day repair," he said, at about 11:15 a.m.
