Madison Police Warn of 'Significant Increase of Thefts' from Cars

After a recent series of thefts, Madison Police are urging all residents to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables especially during the overnight hours

The following is a press release from the Madison Police Department. 

Madison residents are reminded to keep their vehicles locked at all times. There has been a significant increase of thefts from motor vehicles in the Madison and Guilford areas

Specifically, there have been over twenty-five (25) thefts from motor vehicles in Madison during March and April this year.

In these cases, the thief, or thieves, is entering unlocked motor vehicles and taking items inside including, cash and loose change, electronics, sunglasses, purses, and wallets. 

Madison residents are urged to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables especially during the overnight hours.

Residents are also encouraged to report any suspicious behavior in their neighborhoods.
